Support Group Leaders Membership As a CHALC member, you have access to many valuable resources, including liability insurance for publicized activities, a directory of evaluators, HSLDA membership discount, a free website and email account, and the Scrawls newsletter. Please take time to read the Member benefits page for a full list of benefits, and the section "How do I sign up?" below to apply for membership. For your benefit, the CHALC Membership Application is now available online for you to print. Mail your application form along with a check made payable to CHALC.   "How do I sign up?" Support group leaders are responsible for registering their groups with CHALC. Individuals receive their membership through a CHALC support group. If you would like your group to become a member of CHALC, you must submit your application for membership. If you do not have a complete list of members, submit what you have and send additions to CHALC as you receive new members. A new database will be compiled, using your responses on the Membership Application, beginning July 1, 2003. Any support group who has not submitted their information by July 1, 2003 will not be guaranteed to receive the August issue of the Scrawls. If you do not return the application for membership, your group will no longer be considered a member and will be removed from the support group listing in the Scrawls. Handwritten lists are hard to read and may result in errors. Please attach a typed copy of the name, address, telephone number and email address (if applicable) of your members. As additional families are added to your group, simply submit their names and data to CHALC. CHALC Membership fees are based on the number of submitted names on your membership form. In December, your group will be billed for any additional families added to our group's membership. There is no billing for families added after December. Your group will not receive a refund or credit for any families that are removed from your group's membership list during the 2002-2003 / 2003-2004 school year.
